Faith Mangope and Brighton Mhlongo join eTV’s Morning Show team
The new show will simulcast daily on free-to-air eTV and on the paid platform eNCA.

The Morning Show on free to air channel eTV and its paid sister 24-hour-news channel eNCA is shaking things up in a big way.
Media personality Faith Mangope and former goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo are the two new faces joining the breakfast team, bringing their unique perspectives and energy to the already-awesome lineup.
But that is just the beginning. The Morning Show is about to make TV history by broadcasting simultaneously from Monday to Sunday on eNCA and Monday to Friday on eTV, effectively cancelling the pay-to-air’s hard news morning segment.
New changes implemented
From 1 May 2023, The Morning Show will be simulcast, airing on both eTV and eNCA.
The new additions to the team, will be joining the existing lineup of Nelisiwe Mmape, Kgosi Rankhumise, Bolele Polisa, and Obakeng ‘OB Knows’ Ngobeni.
Both Faith and Brighton bring their unique backgrounds and experiences to the table, which is sure to provide some refreshing perspectives. Overall, these changes aim to enhance the viewing experience of the morning show.

Cheeky media
The Morning Show is created by Cheeky Media, a production company that has also produced well-known TV programs such as Real Talk With Anele, The Man Cave, and Jou Ma Se Chef, to name a few.
Yusuf Stevens, the CEO of Cheeky Media and Executive Producer of The Morning Show, expressed his appreciation for being a part of the eNCA family, stating that it is a distinguished brand with a solid reputation.
“Seven days a week is a massive testament to the hard work and dedication from the Cheeky Media Team. We’ve always committed to superior quality work and it’s not going to be any different this time around,” said Yusuf.
“The Morning show is replacing The South African Morning slot 6-9 am daily,” confirmed Yusuf, emphasising the team had a significant obligation to produce quality content for their audience.
“We promise to deliver world class news content in a palatable format and content pieces that adds value to our viewers and followers and we have a responsibility to ensure everyone wakes up and gets the most relevant content to prepare them for their day,” added Yusuf.

Significance of the simulcast
Yusuf said The Morning Show would reach a wider audience and will bring variety to the eNCA audience, seven days a week and we are going to throw everything at bringing the best news with fresh angles to the South African and African audiences.
“The goal is to take the best elements from international shows and replicate it for the SA audiences,” further elaborated Stevens”.
New addition: Faith and Brighton
While this duo may be new to The Morning Show, they are certainly no strangers to the limelight.
Faith is a well-known news anchor recognised for delivering news on eNCA’s South African Morning Show every weekend.
She discussed her motivations for joining The Morning Show team and elaborated on the unique attributes that she brings to the team as a new addition.
“I had a brief opportunity to work with the Morning Show team during a very difficult time in the country, Covid-19 lockdown.
“The way they were dedicated to delivering exciting quality content daily was nothing short of inspiring. And when the stars aligned for us once more, it was a no brainer,” said Mangope.

Mangope also disclosed that she is committed to bringing her best every morning to engage in meaningful conversations that contribute to building a stronger community.
“The Morning Show is a show about the citizens, curated with the help of the citizens, for the citizens. Not only do we inform and entertain, but we also understand that a human being is holistic.
“We look at content that will advance the ambitions of our viewers through our financial advices, look at spiritual wellbeing, tackle mental health and still keep our audiences up to date with information about their world.
“I aim to bring all of me every morning to have conversations that matter and build our nations, but also bring the ‘The Faith Mangope Flair’ to an already great product,” added Mangope.

Meanwhile, Brighton Mhlongo is a former South African professional football goalkeeper who played for Chippa United, a club in the Premier Soccer League.
He intends to leverage his sports background to provide value to the show in his new role.
“I plan to add value by combining my first hand experience and in depth knowledge of the sport as well as doing whole lot of researching and diversifying and with the relationships I’ve formed along my journey, it’ll help to variate and add an element of edutainment and fun,” said Mhlongo.

Airing of the show
The Morning Show will continue to be broadcasted on e.TV channel 194 from Monday to Friday between 6:00 and 8:30 am and additionally, it will be aired on eNCA channel 403 from Monday to Sunday between 6:00 and 9:00 am.
