The Queen actress Connie Ferguson received a beautiful welcome back from the Ferguson Films team on set.

The actress is returning after the passing of her husband Shona Ferguson at the end of July. Her room was filled with balloons, flowers and gifts as Connie captured the moment on camera.

She wrote on Instagram: “Team #thequeen #fergusonfilms. I love you all so much! Thank you for today. It’s good to do what you love knowing it’s for a purpose bigger than yourself. I’m grateful that we continue to walk this journey together, and all our wins and victories are to the glory of the almighty God. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Her absence on The Queen did leave some uncertainty as some fans were concerned over her character Harriet Khoza and her romance with Hector.

In August, the new season introduced a storyline that saw previous arch-enemies Harriet and Hector (Rapulana Seiphemo) start to fall in love with each other.

Harriet’s character is the matriarch of her family and at the centre of many storylines on The Queen, she hasn’t been on screen for weeks subsequently fans have missed her.

Director Wandile Magadla said things are going to be okay going forward with the show.

He wrote: The minute you walked onto set, we all knew that we gonna be alright. Welcome back diMazo @connie_ferguson.”

It would be interesting to see how Harriet returns to the show, especially after she left to go hide her feelings for Hector at her mother’s home in the North West province.
