Ayanda Ncwane reveals the real reason she left ‘Real Housewives of Durban’

'I have built my brand and my brand is so big and high for me to be just associated with the show.'

Businesswoman and former Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) star, Ayanda Ncwane, has moved onto bigger and better things and feels she can no longer be associated with certain brands.

Just over two months ago, the RHOD star announced that she would be walking away from the reality TV show, and allegations were made that her departure was mainly because she felt the show belittled her late husband Sfiso Ncwane and his legacy.

The music executive recently did an interview with Daily Sun where she put all allegations to rest and revealed the real reason she bid farewell to the show.

In the interview, Ncwane spoke about her own personal growth and the growth of her brand as a businesswoman and media personality.

She then made it clear that with the renewal of season 2 of Real Housewives of Durban, she would not be going back as a star on the show, because she does not want to be labelled and reduced to just being a housewife on the show.

“I have built my brand and my brand is so big and high for me to be just associated with the show. I recently saw a headline that only associated me with the Real Housewives of Durban, and I got annoyed because I have worked so hard building a brand of being a music executive.

“So for me to be associated with something so small whereas I have worked so hard did not sit well with me, and I decided that the show is not for me as I don’t want to be reduced to just being a housewife, while I have worked so hard for everything that I have,” said Ncwane.

Ncwane was recently nominated in the category for Diva Extraordinaire of the Year at the Feather Awards. When asked what is next for her and her career, she told Daily Sun that the sky is the limit.
