UPDATE: London Louw bows out of Idols SA
In the First Round category the Idols had to select a hit from the year they were born, and this is what the contestants chose:
Bongi Silinda chose Phil Collins’s 1990 hit, “Another Day in Paradise”
Lize Mynhardt chose the big 1993 hit “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” from the Scottish one-hit-wonders The Proclaimers
London Louw chose Sinéad O’ Connor’s “Nothing Compares To U”, from 1990
Vincent Bones chose Lionel Richie’s “Stuck On You”, from 1984.
The theme for the second round is the contestants’ own personal favourites, and this is what they chose:
Bongi chose the Drake hit “Find Your Love”
Lize chose Leonard Cohen standard “Hallelujah”
Londonchose The Darkness’s “I Believe in a Thing Called Love”
Vincent chose Sam Smith, “Stay With Me”
And for the final round the contestants had to prepare a song chosen for them by the Idols producers. This is what the contestants chose:
Bongi drew Lana Del Rey’s “Young & Beautiful”
Lize drew Kanye hit “No Church In The Wild”
London drew Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”
Vincent drew, “You & I (Nobody In The World)”.
