The Soil will perform live at Bassline Live at The Lyric Theatre tomorrow, 3 November.
The group last performed at the Bassline Live back in 2019.
‘It’s like coming back home’ – The Soil
Speaking about the highly anticipated return, the group said it’s like coming back home for them.
“We have performed at that venue for The Soil family and have always been inspired by the way they have received us. Bassline Live at The Lyric Theatre is like coming back home to us
“This time, it will be different, as we will also give a sneak preview of the new material from our upcoming album. And, as for Theo ‘The Songstress’ ‘wait to be very amazed, it’s The Soil re-imagined. That’s all we can say.”
Bassline Live at The Lyric Theatre’s relationship with The Soil dates back to 2011.
Brad Holmes, Bassline founder, said they are delighted to have The Soil back on the Bassline Live.
“Bassline has been fortunate in its 29 years in the music industry, to be exposed to incredible South African talent, The Soil being one of them who have been doing shows with us through the Bassline’s venue times and performed at the Bassline Fest in 2011 and 2016 to huge acclaim.
“We have, literally, watched them grow and grow over the years. We are delighted to have them back on the Bassline Live promoted stage at the beautiful Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City.”
The show will start at 8 pm, and tickets are available at Computicket from R350.

New album
The Soil is set to release its 5th studio album seven years after its last offering.
The album’s lead single, Thandwa Ndim, was released early last month. The acapella group features Thee Legacy in the song.
Group member Ntsika Ngxanga said Thandwa Ndim is a declaration of love. He added: “The process of creating this album, we said to ourselves … ‘we were away, show us what you learnt from your journey’. So we all brought in songs into the space.”
