The Parlotones rocks first night of Oppikoppi

Famed for singing "I'm only human after all", Kahn Morbee and The Parlotones managed to be the main attraction among festival goers  at the first night of concerts at Oppikoppi.

A superhero feat, considering after the band broke ties with their former management last year and released their latest CD Antiques and Artifacts (which hasn’t delivered them a major hit yet), the night almost served as a reintroduction.

This was the first time they played at the festival in five years.

They managed to deliver a showstopper set, with Morbee belting out some of the pop-rock group’s greatest hits, while Glen and Paul Hodgen and Neil Pauw managed to reaffirm the group as pop-rock kings with their upbeat tunes.

The band followed aKing at the Main Stage, and considering aKing’s following, The Parlotones are reclaiming their space under new management.

The first night saw revelers clinging to plastic bottles filled with God knows what as they navigate the festival grounds and campsite. Top acts to look out for Saturday are AKA and the return of pop-punk group Tweak.
