Spotify has officially launched in South Africa, offering brands a new platform to connect with local consumers in an exciting, targeted and impactful manner.
The music streaming service allows music fans to discover and enjoy more than 35 million local and international tracks, thousands of human-curated playlists for every mood and moment, and personalised music tailored to their own music tastes. Starting today, users can visit spotify.com to download the Spotify app and use the free, ad-supported service.
In attendance at the launch that took place in Parktown were SA’s well-known movers and shakers, such as Shekhinah, who performed a set of some her well-known songs, which included: ‘Hey Mr’ and ‘Suited’.
“You can now have an offline mode, which means you can take all your music with you, and it can be offline and available on your phone so you don’t have to consume a lot of data,” said Claudius Boller, Spotify’s managing director of the Middle East and North Africa region.
