South Africa's Liesl Laurie finished the final round in 11th place.
Mireia Lalaguna Royo, a 23-year-old professional model from Barcelona, has won the Miss World beauty pageant in Sanya, China.
She walked away with the award for her nation, Spain, with Russia trailing in second and Indonesia in third.
Winner, Royo, has a degree in Pharmacology and wants to do a MA in Nutrition.
South Africa’s Liesl Laurie caused quite a stir earlier in the competition, by making it into the final top 11 round.
