Bentele won the seventh season of the popular TV show through his network of connections and his streak of immunity wins.

Winner of Survivor South Africa: Island of Secrets Rob Bentele will represent the country in the upcoming season of Survivor Australia vs. The World.

The Survivor Australia vs. The World is seen as another attempt by the Australians to be the best current version of the Survivor franchise.

The season, which will air in June, sees returning Australian players take on players from international editions, including Survivor USA, Survivor New Zealand, Survivor South Africa and Finland’s Robinsonekspedisjonen.

The Australian Tribe features recent Survivor: Titans vs Rebels competitor Kirby Bentley, 2020 Australian Survivor: All-Stars winner David Genat, and fan-favourite and Luke and Survivor Australia S4 alumnus Sarah Tilleke.

Bentele makes up the international tribe which includes Survivor New Zealand champion Lisa Stanger.

Fresh from Survivor Québec, Kassandre Bastarache and 2022 Robinsonekspedisjonen runner-up Tommi Manninen round out the tribe.

Bentele on Survivor

Bentele won the seventh season of the popular TV show through his network of connections and streak of immunity wins.

The tight bonds he formed within the Sa’ula tribe laid the foundation for his victory; this was mainly due to the five-person Amigos Alliance, which would go on to dictate the rest of the season.

The Sa’ula tribe had to go through two tribal councils, where contestants are voted off, following their immunity challenge losses.

“Nothing can describe the feeling of your first tribal council. The uncertainty and ‘guilt’ is nerve wrecking,” wrote Bentele reflecting on his time on the show, on Instagram.

“It’s where the battle lines are drawn and someone’s fate is sealed. Tribal Council is where secrets are revealed and it could always be your last. My tribe Saula was first in the den and we were sent there repeatedly. Hence we were forged in fire and our bond kept us all going strong,” he said.

Bentele’s father is Austrian, and his mother is Zulu, and this seemingly made him appealing to tribe mates and fans who appreciated his looks.
