The Johannesburg auditions will be held at The Bassline on Saturday, 19 July from 9am – 3pm.
THE LION KING, now in its 17th year on Broadway, is the longest running Broadway musical and has since extended its companies to various countries including the UK, (two companies), Spain, Germany, Brazil, and of course the two touring US productions. The auditions are for all the companies. The casting call is for all singers and dancers between the ages of 18 and 28 years old. Dancers should have experience in contemporary and ballet.
The music for the Broadway show was written by Elton John, Tim Rice and South Africa’s own Lebo M. It is the Lebo M’s unique South African arrangements that drove Disney to insist that there be South African singers in every production, hence this wonderful opportunity for local talent.
