Silverstar is going big

Silverstar Casino is “Going Big” from now until 28 September 2019. The casino is punting the fact that it will be going big with prizes, entertainment and food so we checked out the specials on offer at the restaurant “Publicity”, which is one of their partners for the promotion.

Publicity is a pub-style restaurant, with wooden beams, a high roof and a long bar. The food here matches the image as the plates come packed to overflowing with nothing done in half measure.

To coincide with the promotion the restaurant is offering a half loaf mutton bunny chow so packed with meat that it’s spilling out onto the plate. The meat is tender, and the curry mild proving that there is more to a good bunny than simply the chilli.

The chicken special is a full chicken and chips, and this isn’t one of those stingy, malnourished birds either. Also basted in a light chilli sauce this will leave most people incapable of finishing their meal, and we took home leftovers.

The full rack of ribs is likewise sizable, and probably our favourite dish of the day. Perfectly sticky and well cooked with the meat falling off the bone they went down a treat with a delicious Windhoek draught.
