Samthing Soweto was the fourth member of the now successful group, The Soil, but he decided to leave over a contractual dispute.
Speaking to Drum magazine, the singer admitted that leaving the group was not his best decision as at the time he was very young and naive. He told the publication that he wanted freedom to be a part of The Soil, as well as, another group.
“I was young, I didn’t know better. I wanted to do everything at the same time and I admit I was wrong. I regret leaving The Soil but I’m happy they’re doing well,” he said.
Even though he regrets leaving his former band mates, he was happy that the group became such a success even without him.
The singer also mentioned that he would love to work with The Soil again, but he is ready to also embrace his own path.
Now he has a hitsong “Akanamali” featuring Sun EL Musician that everyone has been jamming to, and it seems it will be the new national anthem in December.
