SABC takes The Bold and the Beautiful off our screens
The broadcaster's deep financial problems have been cited as a primary reason.

In a statement on Saturday, public broadcaster the SABC said it would no longer be broadcasting US soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful on SABC 3, starting tomorrow.
They incorrectly said they had broadcast the show since September 1997. The SABC has in fact been broadcasting The Bold and the Beautiful for about 30 years.
The channel said a news and current affairs show, Democracy Gauge, would take the 5.30pm slot, followed by local sitcom Taryn and Sharon at 6pm and Keeping Score at 6.30pm.
The broadcaster said the decision was taken due to the SABC’s financial problems and the fact that it could not afford the cost of paying for the rights to the show any more, and it wasn’t delivering a good return on the investment anyway.
