Rhythm City newbie a real diva

Known for his roles as Paul Mashaba on ‘Generations’ and Busani Mojalefa in ‘Muvhango’, Twala recently also joined the cast of ‘Rhythm City’, but sources claim that he’s not fitting in all that well. “He’s big-headed and thinks he can do as he likes,” an insider told Sunday Sun.

According to sources, the actor is throwing his weight around so much that he actually refused to have an interview with a specific magazine because “he thinks it wasn’t his market”, and apparently did the same in his capacity as ‘Muvhango’ actor.

“Siyabonga’s behaviour didn’t go down well with the soapie’s bosses who concluded that he’s unfit to be part of the show,” the source added. “This guy thinks he’s the most sought-after actor. Producers believe his antics will influence other stars to behave like him.”

Twala, however, personally refuted all these claims, saying: “That’s a pure lie, bhuti wami. Abantu abanalo iqiniso. (People don’t tell the truth). “I had a three-month contract with Muvhango and it has ended. I also have a three-month contract with Rhythm City and I’m busy shooting.”

‘Rhythm City’ producer Yula Quinn also rubbished rumours that the actor has been rubbing people the wrong way with his diva behaviour, saying: “At this point we’re not aware of him refusing to do an interview. About the contract, he won’t be cancelling his contract and we never had any diva tendencies from Siyabonga. He gets along with everyone and is respected by his colleagues.”
