After teasing the possibility of an entirely new cast over the last few months, M-Net has finally confirmed who will be appearing on the long-awaited third season of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg – the show that kicked off the plethora of African cities in the global franchise.
Fan favourites may not be returning but there will be two familiar faces in the form of Lebo ‘Jojo’ Mokoena who appeared as Lebo Gunguluza in season two and Lethabo ‘LeJoy’ Mathato.
They will be joined by new additions; content creator and HR administrator Mamus Koka, mother of three who is married to a millionaire Keabetswe Marema, self-made millionaire and traditional healer Thobekile Mdlalose and serial entrepreneur, mother of one and recent divorceé Nicole Watson.
Here’s everything you need to know about The Real Housewives of Johannesburg cast ahead of season three.
According to the statement issued by M-Net, Watson (popularly known as Nicci Lee) is a dynamic serial entrepreneur and newly divorced mother of one. She was married to businessman Veli Ngubane who recently married Afternoon Express presenter Palesa Tembe.
The channel said she has the right mix for a reality TV personality, adding that she has taken on the challenge of creating successful businesses while dealing with challenges in her personal life.
“The Steyn City resident and ‘Miss Know It All’ does not shy away from a teachable moment with her castmates. She has a plethora of international connections and celebrity friends.”
This time around, the businesswoman described herself as ”an old soul”.
She currently features as the host of a podcast and radio show and is in the process of self-discovery following her split from businessman Lebo Gunguluza.
The show will follow her as she discovers what life looks like as a single businesswoman after last appearing on TV as a wife and mother of seven.

This HR administrator who works for an NGO is also a YouTube content creator who talks about various topics while hosting a podcast with her husband titled Couple of Things.
“While she wants to continuously learn and grow, she does not enjoy hard work, even though she can, if necessary.”
After appearing in the second season of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg back in 2019, Mathatho is back with the hopes of changing people’s perceptions of her.
She said that she wants to use her platform to support and uplift the boy child while she builds her empire.
Marema is hands-down the cast member with the most dramatic bio. Described as a “Soweto-born mother-of-three”, Marema wants it to be known that she is married to a multi-millionaire “who counts stacks of cash in broad daylight”.
She is also described as a ”wild-spirited woman”, who “will book an expensive VIP table opposite her husband from whom she is separated to prove a point.”.

She enters the show at a point in her life where she is on a journey of self-discovery and healing while discovering her passions and financial freedom after breaking free from a ten-year marriage.
“Through the show, Marema’s goal is to encourage women to love themselves first and realise that it is never too late to find their happiness and everything else they deserve.”
Lastly, we have Thobekile Mdlalose; a self-made millionaire and traditional healer.
She is also a former TV producer and director who knows how to get the action rolling.
“Mdlalose, also an advocate for healthy lifestyles, is launching a charity organisation that she hopes will alleviate period poverty and teach girls how to be financially independent.”
She joins The Real Housewives of Johannesburg just as her husband presents a dilemma in the form of his desire to expand their family.
Whether that is through an additional child or an additional wife remains to be seen.
After a delay in 2021 due to a violent physical altercation between two cast members that ultimately led to a recast, RHOJ officially returns to the screen on Friday, 19 May 2023.
This particular franchise will air first on 1Magic (DStv channel 103) at 8.30pm and will be loaded onto Showmax sometime thereafter.
