Quarter, half or full Mr President?

On Tuesday, President Jacob Zuma proposed to pay back an amount to be determined by the Auditor-General and the minister of finance  proposes solution to Nkandla days before court hearing for any benefit he derived from the upgrades to his Nkandla homestead.

This statement came a week before the Constitutional Court is set to hear applications by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and Democratic Alliance (DA) to declare Zuma’s actions to implement remedial action proposed by the Public Protector, unconstitutional.

The applicants argue that Zuma failed to implement the Public Protector’s remedial action. Government argues that Zuma has taken action, but that these steps were not those proposed by the Public Protector.

This follows an inter-ministerial committee publishing its own report, absolving Zuma from any repayment.

The court hearing, which would test the constitutionality of the steps he has taken, starts on February 9, and is scheduled two days before Zuma’s State of the Nation Address (Sona).

Nando’s, notorious for its social commentary adverts, could not miss out on the opportunity to ask President Zuma how much he will pay back. The chain released the advert on Wednesday, just after Zuma’s statement. The advert, which has been doing the rounds on social media, has been confirmed as being legit by Nando’s.

This is not the first time Nando’s has done such, the chained jumped on the opportunity to make fun of Clive Naidoo who became famous to South Africans after a hilarious exchange with a JMPD officer. Bloubosrand became a well-known place because Naidoo came from there.

Again, the chain went on to make a commentary on the proposed plans for President Jacob Zuma to purchase a R4 Billion jet last year.

In the advert, they wrote: Zuma we’ve got wings you don’t have to explain.

Now Nando’s has asked the President, Quarter, half or full?
