The finest presenter finalists were announced at the trendy, urban Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! in Cape Town.
South Africa’s top presenter hopefuls will be going head-to-head in style and travel challenges, trying their hands at cooking and DIY, and of course, the ultimate trial of presenting prowess: appearing on live TV. Each of these challenges is designed to put their presenting talents to the test and prepare them for the Grand Finale playing out on the beautiful island paradise of Zanzibar.
The Top 11 is composed of the best of what the country has to offer – they’re all loveable, beautiful and of course, incredibly talented.
Meet the Top 11 contestants:
Caley van der Volk is a girl born in the small town of Willowvale in the Transkei. She has travelled the world seeking to satisfy an infinitely curious mind. This multi-lingual small-town sweetheart is all set to steal the hearts of the South African audience.
Christopher Jaftha hails from Johannesburg and has practically grown up on stage and screen. Christopher is truly a home-grown hunk who has won several best-looking-man awards. He has an abundance of charisma and experience which make him an absolute pleasure to watch.
Danilo Acquisto is no stranger to the presenting world, both on radio and the small screen. Danilo hosts his own slot on Goodhope FM, and after having successfully scooped a presenting spot on Hectic Nine-9, he has moved on to behind-the-scenes content production across many media platforms. But it seems that the spotlight has landed firmly on him and Danilo belongs in front of the camera.
Jade Hubner is a self-confessed tomboy has grown into a beautiful, fit and talented young woman who has mastered everything she has tried her hand at. Whether it be athletics, music or entrepreneurship, Jade has made it all her own. There is just one more hurdle on her way to ultimate stardom – the Top 11 challenges.
A true baller, basketball coach and radio host, Khanya Siyengo is a kind-hearted soul whose personality shines through in his smile and presenting style. Having left a job in banking, Khanya followed his dreams to become a presenter. His passion lies in engaging with people and connecting with his audience. A veteran of other presenter searches – will this be the one that makes his dreams come true?
Born in Johannesburg and raised in Polokwane, Leon Nieuwoudt has travelled the world working as an international model, as well as dabbling in acting, PR and music. There is little that Leon hasn’t seen or done, and it is this worldliness, and not to mention his good looks, that make Leon seriously stand out.
Mishka Patel was raised in a small town near Stellenbosch. At 22-years-old not only is she the youngest in the Top 11, but she has been in the modelling world for only a year and has already enjoyed a meteoric rise to success as a Miss South Africa 2014 finalist and entrepreneur.
Sanda Shandu is a man whose smile and sense of humour lights up any room. Growing up Sanda was a jack of all trades: sports aficionado, a UCT economics graduate, musician and actor. And Sanda has mastered the lot!
Ziphozakhe Zokufa took up the crown as Miss South Africa 2014. She has only gone from strength to strength from there. As a professional model Ziphozakhe, affectionately known as Zee, is incredibly comfortable in front of the camera!
Zoe Brown’s career goals are to build real and lasting bridges between people and communities. And with her degree in International Relations, her budding career as a radio presenter, and now as a Top 11 finalist, she is well on her way to making her dreams come true.
Nambitha Ben-Mazwi has, amongst numerous other achievements, been the MC on stand-up events for top comedians in New York and travelled Europe singing at the continent’s most prestigious musical venues. She is a singer, actress, TV presenter and entrepreneur: Nambitha really is the whole presenting package.
