The pay TV broadcaster’s publicist Bongiwe Potelwa said the executive producer is in the process of compiling a report which he will hand over to the police soon.
Axola Mbengo or Bexx, pictured, and Siyanda Ngwenya, also known as Adams, were removed from the show after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced at the weekend. The housemates has earlier been involved in heavy drinking on Saturday night.
Adams allegedly bragged to fellow contestants on the show saying: “I dipped her but I don’t think she remembers because she passed out”.
The comment has apparently landed him in hot water. In a statement on Tuesday night, M-Net said: “Having suspected there may have been an incident of sexual misconduct, Mzansi Magic acted by removing both individuals from the house.”
Asked why the two were removed from the show, Potelwa said: “The safety of our contestants is our highest priority and for this reason we chose to remove Bexx and Adams and to appoint an independent investigation.”
Potelwa said any further actions will be guided by the results of the independent investigation currently under way. The investigator will look for possible footage of the alleged incident.
The investigation will determine whether the incident was captured by the cameras in the house, she said.
Currently, Bexx and Adams were receiving support and assistance from Mzansi Magic. They are both in the care of professionals and have been given the opportunity to contact family and friends, Potelwa said.
