Last night’s episode of Our Perfect Wedding caused a furor on social media after viewers watched how the bride, Mandisa, admitted that she called the show to film her wedding because she wanted her husband to have witnesses see him marry her and commit only to her.
Mandisa and Sikhumbuzo’s love story is an interesting one, as he has a past of cheating with different women. However, when Mandisa fell pregnant with their son, he proposed to her.
In one segment, Mandisa says she suspects that is the only reason he chose her, so that their son could have two parents in one home.
She also confesses to doing it only for the baby and not for love.
On Twitter, many weighed in on the episode, with some saying it was what couples realistically go through on their way to the altar, while others wondered how a marriage could be built on a lack of trust, bitterness and hurt.
How does one build a happy marriage from a foundation of so much bitterness and mistrust? #OPW
