KO’s fans finally came through for him. The rapper walked away with the KIA Record of the Year award and in total collected three statues after leaving empty-handed at every other award event so far this year.
The fashion didn’t disappoint either – viewers saw many hits and misses. Unfortunately, the same could not be said about the production. The public, however, was not pleased with anything. The sound quality left much to be desired, with fluctuations in audibility left many guessing what was being said.
Viewers were treated to snippets of conversations they shouldn’t have, such as when Kabelo Mabalane asked if they could play KO’s song after he came up to accept his award. By the way, why did they not play his song? If we didn’t know any better, we’d say the sound guys were sleeping.
HHP as host of SAMA XXI was a disaster. Viewers were expecting a punchy, captivating entertainer, but all we got was an exhausted, out-of-breath presenter.
He was not funny at all, even though he tried to draw the audience in with his upper cut jokes. At one point, the crowd was apparently heard booing. Should we even mention that DJ Sbu jibe.
We still love you Jabba, and we’ll still be sipping on a cold Fanta pine, Ka bo … sunset till the sun gon’ shine with you, but not at the SAMAs.
Here are people’s reactions to his presenting skills:
Penny Lebyane vented about the lack of SAMA XXI presenting skills.

Here is what she said:
