Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan delivered a rather savage burn to disgraced sitcom star Roseanne at the MTV Awards at the weekend.
While accepting the MTV Award for ‘Best Villain’ for his role as Erik Killmonger, Jordan took a sideswipe at Barr, whose sitcom was cancelled last month, following after the comedian posted a racist tweet on Twitter.
Barr came under fire on social media after she compared former US president Barack Obama’s White House adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape on Twitter and linked her to the Muslim Brotherhood.
As he accepted his award, Jordan said, “I’m shocked that I won this award for Best Villain. I thought for sure Roseanne had this in the bag.”
Buuuuurn!
Roseanne Barr blamed a dose of Ambien for the incendiary tweet, but celebrities and fans weren’t having any of it. The French pharmaceutical company that manufactures Ambien, Sanofi, was quick to push back.
“People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world,” the drugmaker tweeted.
“While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.”
