Meet the top 10 Idols SA contestants:
Karabo Mogane
24-year-old Karabo is from Nelspruit, who has come a long way from Somizi Mhlongo’s famous comment about his “dishwashing-water personality” at his original audition in Pretoria.
Loyiso Gijana
The youngest competitor is 16-year-old Loyiso from Uitenhage in the Eastern Cape, whose performance in the Top 16 Guys Spectacular Gareth Cliff called a “tour de force”.
Rhema Varrie
21-year-old Rhema from Alberton on the East Rand, who said earlier he hoped to win the competition so he can pursue a career in music.
Siphelele Ngcobo
Siphelele, 24, from Inanda, near Durban, won the voters’ hearts with his performance of Omi’s hit Cheerleader in the Top 16 Guys Spectacular. “They really did win the hearts and minds of South Africa,” Gareth Cliff remarked about the fans’ choices.
Dineo Moseki
Dineo, 21, from Vryburg – who Somizi raved “brought the chakalaka” with her performance of Sia’s Chandelier.
Amanda Antony
22-year-old Amanda from PE, who hopes to have her own recording studio one day and discover fresh new talent herself.
Elwira Standili
Elwira, 22, from Worcester, who Unathi Msengana thought was “perfect” in her performance of the Taylor Swift hit, Style.
Mmatema Moremi
Mmatema, 23, from Limpopo, who Somizi Mhlongo calls “devastatingly gifted”.
Nadia Herbst
“Poppie, you’re in the Top 10!” Somizi announced to 20-year-old Nadia from Paarl, who was worthy of being given a second chance.
Lungisa Xhamela
And then it fell to Randall Abrahams to break the news that Lungisa, 24, from Langa, in Cape Town, was the final Top 10 contestant!
