#MarkFishChallenge still a hit on social media

The Twitter trend has been around all week, and is still producing some quality entertainment.

Leave it up to South Africans to find a humorous side to losing two legendary figures in the South African music and entertainment industry.

The father of South African jazz, Hugh Masekela and actor Sandy Mokwena both passed away this week. However, the double blow, although mourned, has made for some interesting tweets on social media platform Twitter.

In case you don’t know, the Mark Fish challenge came about when soccer legend Mark Fish composed a tweet to mourn the passing of Masekela.

His good intentions were maimed by using a picture of Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse, instead of Masekela.

In typical Mzansi style, other Twitter users and journalists from around the country responded by creating their own Mark Fish-type tweets. Politicians and celebrities have inevitably been the highlight of the trend.

The Citizen have chosen some legendary tweets that have kept the #MarkFishChallenge alive and very entertaining. Scroll and enjoy:
