Mapaputsi thinks showbiz is kindergarten

Down-and-out kwaito musician Mapaputsi is desperate to make a comeback like fellow musician Mandoza, apparently by taking a shameless ride on his coattails.

Mandoza recently managed to avoid a complete decline into obscurity by signing a deal with e.tv for his own reality show called ‘Rolling with Mandoza’, and Mapaputsi is now apparently pleading that he help him do the same.

According to the Sunday Sun, music industry insiders claim that Mapaputsi has asked Mandoza to act as a mediator between him and e.tv so that he can also bag himself a show.

“Mapaputsi begged Mandoza to speak to the bosses at e.tv so that he can also have a show like his,” said a source. “He wants the same show, but his should be named ‘Rolling with Mapaputsi’. He told Mandoza that he has a lot to tell and show if he can be granted a chance.”

“He’s broke and lives in a backyard shack at his parents’ home. What’s he going to show us, his shack or what?” added a sceptical insider. The ‘Izinja’ hitmaker is apparently also refusing to record another album in a feeble attempt to guilt-trip Mandoza into helping him.

“He wants to be on TV with all his heart and he doesn’t want to do anything else but have his ‘Rolling with Mapaputsi’,” explained a source. “That guy is a joke. He should just get focused and do better music, if he wants to be taken seriously.

“Mandoza is trying to make a comeback as well, he doesn’t have time to help other people. Mapaputsi thinks showbiz is a kindergarten, as he is really playing.”
