Mandela movie continues breaking records
Anant Singh's film of Nelson Mandela's life has become South Africa's highest grossing biopic of all time earning more than R20 million in its five weeks at the box office to date.

The film has outperformed Oscar winning releases like Walk The Line, Evita and Ali and a host of other biographical movies.
Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom is based on former president Nelson Mandela’s autobiography and tells the story of Madiba’s life from his boyhood in Qunu through to his election as the first president of post-Apartheid South Africa.
Commenting on the film’s latest milestone producer Singh told The New Age, “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom gives audiences an opportunity to experience the amazing life of Nelson Mandela and be inspired by him.
“It is a film for all South Africans and we are thrilled that South African audiences have embraced it in this manner.”
