Mampintsha has responded to allegations that he was physically abusive toward Babes Wodumo in an interview on Metro FM, in which he claimed he and the singer are still together.
The record boss has been in the spotlight recently after an interview aired on Metro FM last Friday in which DJ Masechaba Ndlovu alleged that Mampintsha had punched Wodumo (real name Bongekile Simelane) in the face and broken her leg.
In the interview posted on Twitter, the singer can be seen nodding as the allegations are made and breaking down in tears. Wodumo said that her engagement with Mampintsha was over and that she had moved out of his house.
Mampintsha conducted an interview via telephone this afternoon, in which he contradicted Wodumo’s assertion that the couple were no longer together. He said they were, but he could not answer a question put to him by DJ Moflava about when the last time he was in the singer’s presence. The two DJs also accused Mampintsha of being evasive when they asked him direct questions concerning the alleged abuse.
“He is convinced in his mind that they are still together,” Moflava said.
“When you asked ‘when last did you speak to Babes’, he didn’t answer,” said Ndlovu. “He was beating around the bush except to deny that he’d broken her leg.”
“I would feel incredibly threatened as a woman,” Ndlovu said.
In the wake of the interview airing, Twitter has exploded, with many posters condemning Mampintsha.
