Mafikizolo ready to go international
Just when they thought this year couldn't get any better, Mafikizolo received a nomination for this year's Black Entertainment Television (BET) awards.

The nominees list sees the Afro pop group going up against Davido, Diamond, Sarkodie and Tiwa Savage for the Best International Act: Africa award.
“This is such a big accomplishment for us,” said the group’s Nhlanhla Nciza. “We have very tough competition in this category, but we believe in ourselves.”
The group will also be performing their hit Khona at the awards in Los Angeles on June 29.
“We’ve already started rehearsing,” said Nciza.
“It’s going to be a big production because we’re taking all of our dancers with us. We want to give the world a mind-blowing
African experience.”
Their massive success with the album Reunited, has inspired the group to reach for their biggest goal: becoming an international act. The group hopes to get the attention of house DJ David Guetta.
“We’ve always dreamed of having one of our songs remixed by him,” says Nciza. “He would be able to give our music a more international appeal.”
Mafikizolo scooped seven awards at this year’s South African Music Awards (Sama) held last month.
That included album of the year, duo or group of the year, best pop album, best collaboration and best selling ring-back tone.
They’ve also received four nominations in this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards, which will be held on June 7 in Durban.
“We never get used to winning awards. It’s always a humbling experience,” said Nciza.
The BET awards, which started in 2001 to celebrate black entertainers, will be hosted by comedian Chris Rock.
Other nominees include Drake, Jay Z and Beyonce, who are in the lead with five nominations each.
