Rapper Lil Xan and his girlfriend Annie Smith have found themselves in something of an online storm following accusations that the ultrasounds they shared with fans are fake.
The couple announced their pregnancy on Instagram at the beginning of this month and on Friday Smith released a video under the heading: “FIRST BABY PICTURES!!”. In the video she can be seen paging through ultrasound images on her phone while Lil Xan commentates, joking that the child already looks like him and asking: “Where his d*ck at?”
According to the couple, Smith is about nine weeks pregnant. Naturally, fans were delighted and congratulations poured in over the weekend, but by Monday claims began to surface that there was a close resemblance between the couple’s ultrasound photos and photos that crop up at the top of Google when you search for terms like “week nine ultrasound”.
The Instagram account Xanarchy Tea placed images pulled from Google on top of the images on Smith’s iPhone. They claimed: “these photos literally line up perfectly.” T
The outrage is now growing as more and more people claim the couple faked the images for likes.
For her part Annie Smith has responded to claim the furore has all occurred because someone photoshopped their video.
Smith told E! News on Tuesday: “When I posted my YouTube video with my ultrasound pictures, a girl (I’m not going to comment on who) photoshopped them with another person’s name, year, birthday, etc, and uploaded them to Google. I’m honestly really disappointed that we announced it and now this is the rumour floating around.”
