Musician and Idols season 8 winner Khaya Mthethwa will be taking his talent to the world when he directs The Lion King‘s choral music. His wife and former Miss SA winner, Ntandoyenkosi Mthethwa, was first to break the news on social media.
Apart from his hard work, it was his attention to detail that made him the best in his field, said proud wife Ntando, who might get a T-shirt printed to celebrate her husband’s achievement.
“God has elevated you so much. Everything you touch turns into magic. I am so proud of you my love. Your hard work and attention to detail are only a few characteristics that make you the best in your field. Onwards and Upwards baby. Meet the Choral Music Director for the Lion King movie PS: I will not get a T-shirt that says: ‘My Husband is the Choral Director’ #LionKing,” she wrote.

Khaya joins young South Africans such as rapper Anatii, Busiwa and Moonchild Sanelly, who also worked on The Lion King project musically.
Beyonce revealed the tracklist for her new Lion King-inspired album The Lion King: The Gift earlier this week and surprised South Africans when they realised. The two musicians were featured on track 12 titled My Power, along with Nigeria’s Yemi Alade. The last track is Beyonce’s Spirit, which has already received positive reviews from her fans. The album, executively produced by Beyonce, also features contributions from Pharrell, Jay-Z, Childish Gambino, and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
The 14-track album was released today, along with the movie, which also hits South African cinemas tonight.
