Julianne Moore has joined ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’.
The 52-year-old actress – known for playing Emily Weaver in ‘Crazy, Stupid Love’ – will star alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth after landing the role of rebellious leader President Alma Coin in parts one and two of the film franchise.

Producers have been busy lining up several actors for roles in ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’ and ‘Part 2’ over the last week, with Australian actress Stef Dawson also cast in the movies as Annie Cresta, love interest to Sam Claflin’s Finnick Odair.

Evan Ross – who is the son of legendary singer Diana Ross – has also been cast in the films, directed by Francis Lawrence, as Messalla, an assistant to filmmaker Cressida, who is set to be played by ‘Games of Thrones’ actress Natalie Dormer.

Production on the final two movies will begin this year for release in November 2014 and November 2015, respectively.

The second movie in the series, ‘Catching Fire’, is due for release in November.
