In this phase of the competition, judges Unathi Msengana, Randall Abrahams, and Gareth Cliff relinquish their voting power completely, which means the three singers with the fewest votes after the show do not make it to the all-important Top 10.

The contestants performed many of the chart hits that have been dominating the airwaves of South Africa all year long, including Chris Brown’s ‘Don’t Judge Me’, Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’, R. Kelly’s ‘Believe In Me’, Rihanna songs ‘Diamonds’ and ‘Stay, and Avicii’s mega-hit ‘Wake Me Up’.

Voting for this round closes at 10pm on Monday, 16 September, and fans will find out which three will be going home during the season’s very first live ‘Results Show’ at 7:30pm on Tuesday, 17 September.

The Top 8 female contestants will get their chance to perform on Sunday, 22 September. Thereafter the Top 10 will strut their stuff in the popular ‘Idols Spectaculars’ at the 6500-seater Moreleta Park NG Church in Pretoria.

Tickets for the ‘Idols SA Spectaculars’ are currently on sale from Computicket.
