Musician and actress Thembi Seete has penned an impassioned message to her late best friend and fellow Boom Shaka band member, Lebo Mathosa, who would have celebrated her 40th birthday on Monday.
Taking to Instagram at the weekend, Thembi said she thought about the R&B and kwaito singer she considered her sister every day, even though it has been 11 years since the then 29-year-old tragically died in a fatal car accident in Johannesburg.
“There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about you, that I don’t talk about you, that I don’t celebrate you. Not a day I don’t see you,” she wrote on the photo-sharing site on Sunday.
“Your spirit is too strong…I miss you so much…I wonder what you up to because this day was your favorite. You probably keeping the Angels busy right now hey. Knowing you Lebo, I remember we use to celebrate this day beginning of July until end of the year… Your #birthday this time of the year without you, it’s not easy… The one gap that’s hard to fill, hope you okay where ever you are… Happy 40th birthday Nana,” Thembi added.
What a very touching and fitting tribute to a truly gifted artist who shall forever live on in our hearts too.
