Foji played the role of Simphiwe, and Zimba played the role of Mary. According to a press statement, Simphiwe “made a remarkable contribution to the soap, and we wish her all the best with her future prospects”.

It is said Mfundi Vundla, the show’s creator, also sent his well wishes to the departing actress.

The soapie said it was sad to see Zimba leaving the show. Mvundla said: “We enjoyed Denise’s short stint on The Legacy. Her professionalism in aiding us mount a new show was exemplary. We wish her the best in her endeavours.”

Jaqui Archilleas denied claims that Lebohang Mthunzi, who plays the role of Angela, and Ivy Nkutha, who plays the role of Gog’Flo, were leaving the soapie.
