Just weeks after welcoming model Lerato Moloi, the soap has announced that former Muvhango actor Mutodi Neshehe will be joining the revamped show too. Neshehe will be playing a businessman named Zola, who returns to South Africa after spending several years overseas. He believes he has unfinished business with his college sweetheart Karabo Moroka (played by Connie Ferguson).
“It’s been an amazing experience getting to work with one of the county’s best performers,” Neshehe says in a statement. “I am surrounded by such talented cast and crew and have been welcomed with open arms.”
Neshehe was a one of Muvhango’s most popular actors, but was fired in 2008 because of lack of performance. Muvhango’s executive producer Duma Ndlovu released a statement saying:
“He never took his job seriously, he was not committed and his performance was not up to standard. We spoke to him and his agent to address the issue of underperformance and commitment, and gave him an opportunity to correct these issues, unfortunately he didn’t and we were left with no option.”
