Award-winning musician Vusi Nova, who recently survived a hijacking, is in hospital over “fatigue and sky-high temperature”.
On Wednesday, the Naninina hit-maker shared an Instagram post from his hospital bed and confirmed he was sick.
“It’s fatigue, and my temperature is sky high. They are trying to stabilise it,” he told his 62 000 Instagram followers.
The musician is billed to perform at the Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club in Secunda on Friday for one night only.
He told Mpumalanga News earlier that many artists did not go to smaller towns and that was the reason he decided it was important for him to go and “connect with those people”.
“The performance will be an amazing experience and full of emotion,” he said.
The musician was in hospital in August after surviving a hijacking.
Gunmen allegedly hijacked and kidnapped the singer outside his Melville home.
They stripped him naked, slapped him and said they would “cut my d*ck off and my nipples, then kill me”.
The gunmen also asked Vusi to sing for them, and he reportedly said he did not have the voice, to which they responded with more beatings.
He was found by Brixton police. The musician had to cancel a scheduled gig after the incident.
