What to expect from the Saftas tonight
The anticipation has reached fever pitch with celebrities preparing for the glamorous ceremony that is the Saftas.

The event kicks off at 8pm and will be broadcast live from Sun City’s Superbowl today.
“The 11th Saftas is the beginning of a new dawn for the Saftas. We are so excited and more importantly for us the Saftas going forward are going to be more than just an awards show. We are here we look amazing. Obviously! but beyond that Saftas are a tool for the development of the film industry,” says CEO National Film and Video Foundation, Zama Mkosi.
Presenters
Bonang Matheba is hosting the red carpet for E! Africa and has already touched down at the Palace hotel in Sun City. She is one of four presenters who will be chronicling the event for audiences at home. Thando Thabethe and Katlego Maboe will present the show on stage.

Venue
The Sun City’s Superbowl has been the venue of choice for the South African Music Awards and for the first time the Saftas will be hosted here. The awards show was previously housed at Gallagher Estate in Midrand.
Theme
“SA’s got it. Let’s celebrate it ” is the theme of the awards.
Judges
There were 181 judges for the awards.
Categories
There are 89 categories in total. The first half of the awards were held on Thursday evening and technical awards were handed out.
