Spotify turned 10 years old this week and as part of its birthday celebrations, it released several all-time lists showing which artists and songs are the most streamed on its platform.
Topping out the list of most streamed artists of all time was rapper Drake, with British singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran coming in second. Eminem landed at third, followed by The Weeknd and Rhianna.
Sheeran bagged his own top spot with the most streamed song on the service – the single Shape Of You – and Drake settled in second with One Dance. The Chainsmokers occupy the third spot with the single Closer. Sheeran also topped the list for most streamed album globally for his 2017 release Divide, ahead of Justin Bieber’s Purpose and Drake’s View.
Rhianna was the top female streamed artist globally on Spotify, beating out the likes of Ariana Grande, Sia, Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj.
