Nicole posted a picture of a poster advertising the “Welcoming Party” on her Instagram page.
The poster reveals she will play host at the party, which takes place on Friday at Cubana Fourways.
ANCYL President Collen Maine also features on the poster.
“Join me and the ANCYL President as we host the provincial chairpersons of the ANCYL in Jhb,” Nicole captioned the image.
The party is allegedly the ANCYL’s way of welcoming delegates who will be attending the conference.
While senior ANC officials are unlikely to make an appearance, the party is raising a few eyebrows.
Some have questioned how the youth league dared to turn an important conference, which will decide the next ANC leader, into a party session.
“They will come drunk to the conference and contribute nothing and only Heckle ANC participants. [They] have been ordered to harass (sic),” one Twitter user said.
Another added: “This is actually sad. I’m as speechless. When young leaders are out there helping South Africa. This thing is planning Cubana groove (sic).”
ANCYL spokesperson Mondli Mkhize released a statement that does not deny the party is happening – only that it is not organised by the Youth League or its president.
“The ANCYL has noted and confirmed that the suggested venue is booked and secured under the name of the ANCYL. The national leadership of the ANCYL can confirm it is not them but is not in a position to say that who has booked under the ANCYL,” he said.
Will the youth league’s president be co-hosting the party on December 15 as advertised on the poster? We will just have to wait and see!
Nicole made headlines in September after she was accused of having an affair with AKA.
The rapper denied the claims.
