Bulelwa ‘Zahara’ Mkutukana has left DJ Sbu and Thembinkosi Nciza’s record label, TS Records, after being with them for six years. The ‘Country Girl’ singer reportedly left the label in December last year in an “amicable” exit.
Zahara has left the label for her own company, Zahara Army, which does community development and events such as netball days. She will also sign other artists, she told The Sowetan.
Her other projects include a partnership with Universal Records, which is set to be closed in London on Monday. She says the company called her in an attempt to release her and her artists.
The singer says though she is leaving TS Records, she will still work with the label that she calls her “second home”.
However, the label’s talent manager Sanele Dlamini reportedly told the publication they had not sat down with Zahara to officially terminate her contract. There were only talks about her wanting to grow and expand her career.
