Amanda du-Pont considers Podcast and Chill host Macygver ‘MacG’ Mukwevho a nobody and refuses to engage him directly after the latter reportedly requested a “round table meeting” with the former in the wake of a legal battle between Du-Pont and Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye.
This comes after Jub Jub appeared on an episode of Podcast and Chill where he described, in almost graphic detail, his alleged sexual relationship with Du-Pont.
Du-Pont then responded in a video published on her Instagram profile and alleged that what happened between her and Jub Jub was not “smashing” as Jub Jub called it, but that it was rape. Du-Pont has repeatedly spoken about this in various interviews since about 2014. At the time of writing, Du-Pont’s Instagram video had over two million views and messages of support from stars like Boity Thulo, Jessica Nkosi, Thando Thabethe, DJ Zinhle and more.
Based on a letter believed to have been drafted by Du-Pont’s lawyers and published on broadcaster Eusebius Mckaizer’s Twitter profile, MacG served Du-Pont with a letter of demand. In the letter, he claims Du-Pont’s video caused him reputational harm and “influenced a large number of people to now view and label him as a rapist and abuser.”
“Our client has done no such things. Any reputational harm your client may have suffered (of which we are not aware) could not only be attributable to your client’s own unacceptable behaviour,” reads part of the letter drafted and signed by Marweshe Inc. Attorneys.
The letter further stated that Du-Pont refuses to give MacG the apology he demanded, nor will she comply with any of the other demands he made.
The letter concludes by accusing MacG of attempting to silence a survivor of sexual violence and refusing his request to a round table meeting with Du-Pont.
“Our client rejects this request. We are instructed that, to our client, your client is a nobody. She has neither the time nor the inclination to meet with him.”
Dupont has also instructed her lawyers to include MacG in the legal action she is taking against Jub Jub.
On Monday afternoon, Jub Jub released a statement wherein he claims that he “deeply regrets the incident” of the interview in which he described what happened between himself and Amanda.
“I wish to apologise unreservedly to Amanda for the humiliation and hurt I caused her. I also apologise to my fans and the public for the inappropriate language I used during the interview.”
He concluded his statement by indicating that he will forge ahead with the legal action he instituted against Du-Pont and his other accusers.
