South African celebrities, unlike those in Hollywood, are not so far out of reach – you might see them in the shopping malls you frequent, or even jogging on the streets you drive on.
Many celebs live in neighbourhoods that a number of middle class South Africans can afford. If you live in any of these areas, keep your eyes peeled for some of your favourite stars.
Bryanston, a lush suburb in the North of Johannesburg, is home to a host of celebrities including Da L.E.S, whose infamous parties in the area have certainly made a noise over the years.
Fourways is home to many of Jo’burg’s celebs, including the likes of Nonhle Thema, Gemini Major and Lunga Shabalala.
There was a time when Northcliff was the neighbourhood of choice for celebrities. It has still retained its prestige, and the likes of Leanne Manas are some of the notable names in the area.
Can you imagine a more beautiful location than Sea Point in Cape Town? It’s no wonder celebs such as Lee Anne Williams and Chad Le Clos call this location home.
The suburb of Houghton is home of the Mandela family, and celebrities like Bongani Fassie have regularly stayed in the area.
Fitness bunny and celebrity socialite, Sbahle Mpisane is known to stay in the gorgeous suburb of La Lucia in KZN.
The west of Jo’burg is spacious, large and peaceful, which makes it a no-brainer for some of the biggest local celebs in the country like DJ Tira.
Ballito residents must have been excited at the prospect of living near Zodwa Wabantu when it was rumoured that the dancer had bought a home there. Although the rumour turned out to be false, you can still expect to see famous faces. Hollywood celebs such as Richard Bircher have been spotted in the luxurious area.
