As the country continues to deal with the major political events of last week, which led to Jacob Zuma’s resignation, comedian Trevor Noah has found light-hearted humour in the situation.
The Daily Show host has never hidden his views when it came to Zuma, so it comes as no surprise that Trevor used the recent political events to poke fun at the statesman.
Taking to Twitter, Trevor said that he would miss the comedic material Zuma provided during his term as president.
“I don’t care what the people say, he will always be the president of jokes. Farewell Jacob Zuma.”
And to bid farewell to Zuma, the comedian shared a video compilation of all the jokes he’s ever done about the former president.
It’s no secret that Zuma has been part of most of Trevor’s hit shows including Daywalker and There’s a Gupta on My Stoep.
When news that Zuma had finally resigned last week, Trevor joined scores of South Africans in sharing their opinions about the political change. In true Trevor style, he sarcastically told one fan that he was in “mourning” over Zuma’s exit.
Here is Trevor’s ‘heartfelt’ farewell to Zuma:
