WATCH: Dumi Masilela’s final scene on Rhythm City

The latest episode of e.tv’s Rhythm City bid Dumi Masilela a final farewell as he portrayed the role of Sifiso Ngema for the last time.

The actor died two months ago following a hijacking ordeal in Tembisa. He spent the night fighting for his life in hospital after being shot during the attempted hijacking.

Fans had to wait until the end of the episode to see Masilela. In the final scene of the episode, his character walks into a studio and records the song, Ungasabi. The track was written for the soapie before he died.

The show’s producers announced last month they would honour Masilela and stage his exit from the show by replicating his tragic death. The hijacking itself will not be re-enacted, but will instead be reported by one of the characters.
