WATCH: Black Coffee apologises for slapping AKA’s manager

Nkosinathi ‘Black Coffee’ Maphumulo has publicly apologised for slapping AKA’s road manager Tshiamo Letshwene. Coffee was playing at popular Johannesburg nightclub Kong on Sunday night when he paused his set to make the apology.

In a video posted on Twitter by the club, he says: “I would like to say to you, I apologise, I’m truly sorry – I am not that guy,” before blasting Mandoza’s Nkalakatha.

AKA took to Twitter on Sunday afternoon to share his side of the story, calling Coffee a “coward”. He even dared the DJ to attack him instead of his team and made plans to go to Kong, where Coffee was playing, to see what would happen.

But he changed his mind about those plans, saying he has achieved a lot in his life and did not want to ruin it over the drama.

“There comes a time when you have to deal with things with maturity. The only person who can mess this up for me is me.

“What’s the point of me sitting in a cell while my career’s work flourishes … It’s a no-brainer. I’m not a hooligan(anymore lol).

“I don’t go … I’m a b**ch. I go … I’m violent. It’s a lose lose. Rather take the L [accept defeat] and keep everything I’ve worked for in tact,” he said.

According to reports, the Pieces of Me hitmaker had taken to the stage at his allocated time when AKA and his crew, who were about two hours late, walked on to the stage and started doing their sound check.
