Mvoko, foreign editor Sophie Mokoena and journalist Criselda Lewis and an unnamed cameraman were preparing for a live crossing outside the hospital in March when three men pounced on them. This was after they had covered the arrival of Zambian President Edgar Lungu, who was in the country for medical treatment. The victims were robbed of valuables including cellphones, and four men were later arrested in connection with the robbery.
Mvoko posted four pictures of him at the scene on his Facebook page. He appeared to be expressing relief at the fact that the matter would be heard in the Johannesburg Regional Court tomorrow (Wednesday).
“This matter is finally (sic) going to court tomorrow. Oh, and I haven’t worn this suit since,” Mvoko wrote. He did not reveal the reasons for not wearing the suit.
Mvoko and the National Prosecuting Authority could not be reached for comment.
