Violent brawl lands Sean Pages on the pavement

Rapper and producer Sean Pages has admitted to throwing the first punch in a brawl that landed him outside a Joburg club, but he insists he didn't start it.

The hip hop artist, real name Sefako Moloto, was thrown out of posh Sandton venue Club Sway during the early hours of Sunday morning, while celebrating fellow rapper Lagosh’s birthday.

He, however, owned up to hitting his rival first, and says his temporary lapse in judgement was due to him having a “nigga moment”. Pages insists, though, that his opponent unnecessarily provoked him.

Recalling the events that led to the incident, he said in the Sowetan: “I was just saying ‘hi’ to some girl that I know. She came with them (his rivals).

“While I was talking to her, some guy told me, singadelelani (let’s not disrespect each other) and started swearing at me. I pushed him, and his friends charged at me. I snapped and punched one of them… but they started it.

“After the bouncers took me outside, they came at me and started throwing flying kicks. It was like eight of them and I had to fight all of them. It was insane.”

Pages has apologised to Club Sway, where he is said to be a regular, and a spokesperson for the club has confirmed that “everything is cool”.
