Diesel posted a photo of himself with Walker on his facebook , with a quote from Scottish poet Thomas Campbell: “To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die.”
He wrote: “Pablo, I wish you could see the world right now… and the profound impact, your full life has had on it, on Us… on me…I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were… on and off screen.”
Walker played the character of Brian O’Conner in the popular Fast & Furious film franchise, which he starred opposite Diesel.
WATCH: Paul Walker’s final moments caught on camera
Walker, 40, died when the limited-edition Porsche in which he was a passenger crashed, killing him and the driver Roger Rodas, his friend and business partner.
Walker was in the area, just north of Los Angeles, for a car show and toy drive set up through his charity, Reach Out WorldWide. There was initial speculation that the pair had been joyriding when the accident happened, but a motorsport professional told The Hollywood Reporter that the men had taken the car out to test it because something was wrong with the vehicle, which kept stalling.
“Roger wasn’t the kind of guy to go max speed on a small street, same thing with Paul. These guys have respect for the car and they wouldn’t do it like that,” the source told The Hollywood Reporter.
A spokesman for the L.A. County Coroner said autopsy examinations will begin Tuesday morning.
