On the one corner, people said she was doing her journalistic job, while on the other side, people said AKA's privacy should be respected.

Well, that was awkward.
Radio and TV personality Thando “Thabooty” Thabethe wasn’t holding any punches when she interviewed Kiernan “AKA” Forbes on her 947 radio show.
Promoting his latest EP with fellow rapper Costa Titch, Thabethe not only asked about the new music but also about the big “elephant in the room”.
She asked: “We have to speak about the elephant in the room, obviously.”
AKA replied: “What is the elephant in the room?”
Thabethe then told AKA that during the famous sit down he had with her colleague, journalist Thembikile Mrototo, “people felt like you said nothing in that interview”.

The “elephant in the room” is the tragic passing of his fiancée Anele “Nellie” Tembe, who fell to her death from Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town, back in April.
AKA told Thabethe he did not want to talk about the incident because it was “none of our business”.
“It’s something that I am living with in my life,” he said.
In the Mrototo interview with BarLeader TV, AKA said he “regretted many things” during his relationship with Tembe.
“In the hours after it happened, I thought about my entire relationship with her, since the start. Could I have helped her, and taken her disposition more seriously? Should I have been more pushy about her taking her medication?” he said at the time.
Tembe apparently struggled with her mental health and their tumultuous relationship was captured on camera, with videos leaked after her death, displaying a toxic partnership.

Tweeps were divided by Thabethe asking the question. On the one corner, people said she was doing her journalistic job, while on the other side, people said AKA’s privacy should be respected.
It was also argued that the way Thabethe asked the question didn’t help her case.
