A year after her resignation from Jacaranda FM, comedienne Tumi Morake has found a new home at Motsweding FM.
In an announcement made earlier today, Morake is among a number of new faces at the station amid changes to its line up.
“Motsweding FM will on 1 April 2019 refresh it’s on-air line-up, underscoring the need to stay relevant, competitive and to reflect the multifaceted interests of all its audience age groups. The new line up echoes the station management’s commitment to position Motsweding FM as a custodian of cultural values, identity and a vehicle for the preservation and development of the Setswana language,” read part of the statement.
Ikanyeng Modubu, Mokopi Molebatsi and Modisane Modise will also join the Motsweding family come April 1.

Morake will be hosting the station’s breakfast show Di Rage alongside Amon Mokoena. The show will also shift to a new timeslot of 6am to 9am from June 1 2019.
She was also on a breakfast slot while at Jacaranda FM alongside Martin Bester where she was accused by listeners of making racists remarks on her show.
During a conversation following the cancellation of a New Zealand show titled Afrikaans is Lekker where Steve Hofmeyr was the headline act, Morake spoke honestly about her feelings when it comes to conversations about culture.
According to Rekord Centurion, Morake reportedly said that white people were bullies on the playground that stole bicycles from black people, and instead of being punished for the theft, they now had to share the bike and play together.
She stood by her comments in the wake of backlash and later resigned from the station a year after as a result of the bullying she faced from the station’s Afrikaans listeners.
