The 37 year old musician and socialite reportedly lost his battle with anal and colorectal cancer and died at a Cape Town hospital. This came as a big shock to his industry friends who saw him in high spirits at the Metro FM Music Awards last weekend.
“To think we took this image a week ago at the Metro FM Awards, now you’re gone!!!” Wrote television presenter Bonang Matheba. “May your soul rest in peach Koyo. What a wonderful, consistent and loving human being you were. You’ll forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace.”
Details around Bala’s death are still not clear. A few weeks ago, the entertainer posted images of himself undergoing chemo therapy and said that he was determined to beat cancer.
“I’m going to beat this,” he captioned one of his pictures. “I’m going to beat this cancer thing.” Other celebrities who have shared their condolences include Khanyi Mbau, Boity Thulo and Somizi Mhlongo who were all close to Bala.
Oooooh no!!! ๐ข๐ข๐ข๐ข ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ May The Almighty be with the Bala family. My goodness. #RIPKoyoBala
